Order of the Arrow, Nawakwa Lodge, Witchindin Chapter

OrderOfTheArrowThe Order of the Arrow is a service organization made up of scouts and scouters who are specially selected to be a part of scouting’s national honor society.

The purpose of the Order of the Arrow is fourfold:

  • To recognize those Scout campers who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives
  • To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit
  • To promote Scout camping
  • To crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others

The Order of the Arrow Chapter 18 meetings are during the district Roundtable meetings. We would like to make it more convenient for our brothers in the western part of the District to join us.

Ceremony Team

The Chapter 18 Ceremony Team is available to perform Pack Arrow of Light ceremonies and Troop OA Call-Out Ceremonies. Units can submit Ceremony requests by completing the OA Ceremony Request Form.  Once you complete the form, we will contact you concerning your request as soon as possible.  Please make sure you submit all requests for an Arrow of Light or an OA Call-Out ceremony at least thirty days prior to the ceremony date.

Upon receipt of a Ceremony request, the Ceremony Team Advisor and the Youth Chair will respond within a few days to let you know whether the Team will be able to help the unit with their ceremony. Accepted requests will be placed on Chapter 18’s website Calendar. Only the Ceremony Team Youth Chair and the Adult Advisor can commit the Team to perform a Unit requested ceremony. This document outlines the details of the request process, as well as describing the how the unit can prepare for their upcoming ceremony.

Troops interested in having an OA election conducted must fill out the  OA Election Request Form.  Once you complete the on-line form, we will contact you as soon as possible. Request must be made no later than 21 days before the election date. No elections can be conducted within 30 days of a service weekend. Every troop may conduct one unit election per each calendar year. Any questions about unit elections or to join the unit elections team can be directed to the Unit Elections Adviser.
